Campaign:

• The campaign is a direct sequel to Modern Warfare II, with Captain Price and Task Force 141 facing off against Makarov. 
• Makarov's actions involve a series of terrorist attacks and attempts to destabilize the world. 
• The story includes open combat missions, offering more player choice alongside traditional cinematic sequences. 
• A "No Russian" inspired mission is included, but it serves more to highlight Makarov's brutality than to explore complex moral themes. 

Multiplayer:

• Modern Warfare III features 16 remastered maps from Modern Warfare 2 (2009) with updated graphics and gameplay. 
• New modes and gameplay features are also introduced. 
• A new aftermarket parts customization system is available for weapons. 

Zombies:

• An open-world, player-versus-enemy (PvE) Zombies experience is available.
• This mode is developed by Treyarch in partnership with Sledgehammer Games.
• It is a sequel to the events of Black Ops Cold War, set within the Modern Warfare universe.
• The initial experience is called "Operation Deadbolt".
